Gelding in the tulips

imageRed, read, bead, bed, head, heed

Held, meld, weld, gelding in the green field.

Head down grazing

Grinding, never minding

With large yellowing teeth

In his mild gelding warm-coated way.

Where did you come from

Brown-coated gelding?

With a tame mane

And a tail flicking

The few morning flies.

Have you lived a long time

In my never-mind mind?

Is the green field of

The blades of grass

There.    and the fence

I never noticed

And the mild, unused road

That runs next to the field

Hail gelding, hail field and fence and road

Hail blades of grass

In my mind

And out of my mind

Onto the page.
